Socially Conscious Products for Children
By owning a company that specializes in camouflage cosmetics, which addresses ways to cover up and conceal any flaw, I marvel at the women who come through my website and feel pride as each inspirational tale colors my world.
Every woman, in our series of WOMEN WHO INSPIRE, believes that life is lived with passion, joy, and creative intensity, bringing all of their experiences to the table. They all have fascinating lives that are an array of challenges that make them clever, strong, and fearless in their ability to embrace the future with their own unique style.
I’m excited to introduce Amber Carmen, the founder of Tangled Tantrum™, one of the most simple and effective products for children I’ve seen.
Amber, a local hairstylist and mother of two, developed and launched her product line this year. She is also a fan of Judith August Cosmetics, which she uses everyday to cover up small imperfections and a birthmark that she camouflages daily. She had been working in the industry for years and wasn’t satisfied with hair products for children that were on the market. So she decided to develop her own.
It was a fight every night at bath time to brush out tangles in her children’s hair. Her two kids definitely did not want to use “mom products” so Amber thought that if they had their own that smelled amazing, worked great, and had cool eye catching graphics, then she wouldn’t have to deal with “Tangled Tantrums” every night.
Not only did she want to bring something fun to use, but also wanted a healthy alternative to products that contain parabens. Therefore, Tangled Tantrum is 100% paraben-free. This is especially important to young children and their overall health as they grow. She is proud that the products are made in the U.S.A., just like Judith August Cosmetics Solutions. This was important because of the belief in being socially conscious.
Not only were Amber’s children an inspiration for the creation of her product, they are also the look of the line. All of the marketing for Tangled Tantrum feature her children (two featured above) as part of the graphic characters on the label. The image of her product has helped it become alive and is something fun and creative.
Locally, the line is sold in hair salons and was recently featured in the local Salt Lake Magazine for “March Picks for Moms & Kids.” We support Amber and her new venture. To learn more go to tangledtantrum.com
